Avolites Truss Splitter

Q.  Both the DMX data LEDs do not light when I connect the desk to the splitter?

A.  Check that the DMX cable from the desk to the splitter has made proper contact and ensure the cable isn't damaged.
If this fails, then open the top lid and replace the DMX Receiver chip IC2 (SN75178) with the spare one provided on the PCB.
If this chip is faulty there will be no output from any of the XLR connectors.

Q.  The Truss Splitter receives DMX but does not output to any of the XLR connectors

A.  Ensure all the mascon headers are firmly in their positions.
Check which of the outputs are not working.

  • If none of the outputs work, then change IC2 (see above).
  • If a set of two outputs don't work then try changing the DMX Driver chip (SN75174) or the Opto-Isolator chip (6N137) associated with the faulty section.

Spare Driver and Opto-isolator chips can be found on the pcb.

Driver chips are           :- IC5, IC8 & IC11 (SN75174)
Opto-isolator chips are :- IC3, IC6 & IC9 (6N137)
