When ordering a replacement for a Hawke
1330
IF you should specify which desk the board is for along with the appropriate part no.
Each desk has a different configuration of board :-
-
Pearl
SCB has 14 way SIL socket J4 for direct connection to the PP
board.
14 way IDC connector J5 is soldered in ’14 way’ position’ as marked on SCB
board.
‘external reset track’ is not cut. (see marking on solder side of
board).
Mounting holes line up with holes on PP board.
Contrast pot connects to 3 way connector (see colour code marking on board –
grey wire connects to middle pin).
-
Sapphire
96 SCB has 20 way IDC connector J5 for connection to the SPP
board.
Existing cable from to SPP must be replaced by a standard (pin to pin) 20 way
cable.
‘external reset track’ is cut. (see marking on solder side of
board).
Mounting holes will have to be re-drilled.
Contrast pot connects to 3 way connector (see colour code marking on board –
grey wire connects to middle pin).
-
Diamond
II SCB has 20 way IDC connector J5 for connection to the SPP
board.
Existing cable from to SPP must be replaced by a standard (pin to pin) 20 way cable.

board).
Mounting holes will have to be re-drilled.

Notes
:-
A Diamond 2 should have the 14 way IDC connector J5 is soldered in the ’14 way’ position’
or in the ’16 way’ position’ (as marked on SCB board) depending on the type of lcd
screen.
If you need a replacement for an existing SCB - look at the SCB board to determine which type is
required :-
-
If J5 is soldered in the ’14 way’ position’ (most likely case) then order
1201-6850AB
-
If J5 is soldered in the ’16 way’ position’ then order
1201-6850AC
-
If you need a replacement for a Hawke 1330IF.
Look at jumpers J1 on the Hawke board.
If pin A is free then you should order 1201-6850AB
If pin M is free (most likely case) then you should order 1201-6850AC
