What is it?
The Avolites Focus Finder is a new, totally unique, patented product.
Focus Finder obviates the need to point every fixture at a new stage position before
updating the position palette on which all memories and cues are built.
Why do you need it?
The moment automated lights became the rage, the laborious chore of updating preset focuses was
born, wasting thousands of potentially creative hours.
As experienced problem solvers in the touring lighting industry, Avolites found this totally unacceptable!
Wasting time doing what?
Every time a new venue is encountered - with the inevitable new stage size and trim height - all stage
positions change. Any production that is mobile and is lit by automated luminaries will face this problem.
With Avolites consoles, no longer is it necessary to update the hundreds of cues that use movement.
Only the console's positional palette needs to be updated - and all the 'actual cues' will sort themselves out.
How is the Focus Finder used?
The cylinder is simply placed in the new stage position, e.g. 'Centre Vocals' and the consoles do the work, freeing the LD for more creative tasks.
How does it work?
The console instructs each fixture to scan the stage, and during the full scanning process light will fall on the Focus Finder activating a light sensor.
The Focus Finder then reports back to the console that it has found the fixture and a restricted scan process identifies the exact centre of the beam.
Once the last fixture has been focused precisely on the new stage positions by 'homing in' on the Focus Finder, the console automatically stores the Pan/Tilt data into its Position Palette.
The Focus Finder is truly portable with Radio Data Link, real address thumb wheel to set Position Palette number from the unit and can easily be mounted onto a camera tripod or mic stand for any desired height.
The whole process is faster, more accurate and considerably less stressful than the old manual adjustment method.
