The Avolites Azure 2000 Room Lighting Controller.

The room controller allows an Azure 2000 to run house lighting in a multi room environment when room dividers may be moved to create a number of single rooms or one large room or any combination of rooms.

When room dividers are in place each controller only controls the house lights for that particular room, when dividers are moved out a room controller can control the house lights in the combined areas.

Up to 15 areas can be combined in any combination or combinations.

Operation

Each room has one Room Lighting Controller, with the key in the Operate position, pressing any button on the room controller fades the state programmed for that button and the LED in the button lights to indicate the state. Pressing the illuminated button fades to a predetermined state, generally a blackout.

Linking rooms together

When dividers are moved the any Room Controller can be used to re configure the panels. The key is turned to the Link Rooms position and the LED will flash to indicate the key switch is in the program position. Any one of the room buttons required to be in the linked group is pressed and held down. Its LED will light together with any rooms that are currently grouped. Pressing a button with the LED unlit places that room as part of the group, whilst pressing the button again, or any button with its LED on will remove the room from the group of rooms.

Programming the console

Each Room needs to have an associated Chase programmed, with its Links in the OFF position.

Some thought should be given to the lighting states required for each room, because when the rooms are grouped, the step number for each room will be replayed. It therefore would not be satisfactory to have a blackout state in one room as step 1 and a full on state in another room. (Or if they were linked, when that step is activated there will be a very bright area and a very dim area.)

It will probably help to draw a table of 16 rows and 15 columns. Each column is a room and each row a state. State 16 is the state that will be replayed if all the LEDs are off on the Room Controller. In most cases this will probably be a black state, but it could also be a dim state.

Room controller 1 controls playback 1 controller 2 Playback 2 etc.
