| Shax began lighting for the
theatre in 1989 with Bulwagang Gantimpalas production of Hiyas, after which came a string of productions like Florante at Laura,
Kanser, Silang Magigiting and Tiktipaklong, which was the Philippines Official Entry to the ASEAN Theater Festival in Brunei and the World
Children's Theatre Festival in Singapore.
In 1991, Shax joined Tanghalang
Pilipino, the resident theatre company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
