Edward Pennie - a brief history
 

Started out in lighting helping on a Radio Roadshow at College with Knight International. Then did various short term contracts with KI including a UK arena tour. 
After joining the Drama society at University (of Kent in Canterbury) I operated a show, while being Lighting designer on another at the Gulbenkian theatre, Canterbury. 
Undertook an Industrial placement with Avolites Ltd as part of my degree course, working as fixture support writing personalities, dealing with customer providing technical support, maintaining their Downloads website, and participating in both Plasa 2001/2002. 

Graduating from the University of Kent July 2003 with Computer Science BSc Hons and continuing in the lighting industry as sole trader of "Edward Pennie Lighting Designs", offering many services in the lighting field and computer related. 
With several projects under my belt, I am looking forward to what may follow!

Avo Training Courses Having worked with Avolites for a year I am competent within their product range. I am able to programme/operate and diagnose the Azure, Pearl, Sapphire, Diamond 3 and Diamond 4 lighting consoles.

I'm also experienced in troubleshooting console software and the Simulator/Visualiser programs. 
Professional Membership I am an Associate member of the ALD and the STLD. I hope to promote myself within the industry whilst learning new skills and using the ones I currently have.
Qualifications Computer Science BSc Hons
A Levels in Computing (B), Electronics (C) and Maths (D).
9 GCSE's including Maths (B), Science (BB), English (C). 

I currently hold a valid Amateur Radio Licence.
Other Interests  I enjoy listening to a wide range of music and I also play the Bass guitar and Drums (not simultaneously!). 

I've maintained my own website for 4 years and helped other people design websites.
Also designed the www.avolitesdownload.com website whilst on my Placement with Avolites Ltd. 
Most recently designed www.epld.co.uk.
