From 2000 to
2005, Ben Díaz studied in Escola de Imaxe e Son de A Coruña, doing
first the Production Course and then the Image Course. While in the
school, Ben Díaz joined Dixtek SL in February 2005 with the aim of
operate their Avolites Pearl 2004 as many times as possible, so he
spent a lot of time studying the user manual and operating the Pearl
at the company location in Lalín. There he knew Gaby Alvarado, a
famous LD in Galicia, who helped Ben to put in the show all his
knowledge about the Pearl (and a few incredible tips too).
With Dixtek, he worked in 2005, 2006 and 2007 as lighting technician
in several shows, operating several lighting desks like Pearl 2004,
Azure 2000, ETC Insight II or Flying Pig Whole hog II Echelon 1000,
among others. He worked as lighting technician for groups like
Melendi, Nena Daconte, Macaco, Lucie Silvas, Salif Keita, Ivo
Papasov, Ziggy Marley, Caetano Veloso, Toquinho, Vinicio de Moraes,
Julieta Venegas, Luz Casal, Los Suaves, Los Secretos, Deluxe, Josele
Santiago, Sex Museum, a lot of important local bands like Avalon or
Dios ke te Crew, techno rave parties, theatre functions with Centro
Dramático Galego, Nova Galega de Danza, Antología de la Zarzuela or
Xacarandaina, and a lot of different events from politics to fashion
shows.
Also, Ben Díaz is a DP and camera operator. He worked as DP in
several video clips, live shows, documentals, etc. with his own
company Videafilm.
Since 2007, Ben Díaz is the Key lighting technician and Programming
Operator of the Spanish band Celtas Cortos, touring over all the
country with an Avolites Pearl 2000, 12 Mac 500, 12 Mac 600, 5 City
Color IP54, 6 Pixel Par, 8 ETC 26º profiles and 12 par64. Equipment
is supplied by Swing Electroshow.
Also, he works as a free-lance lighting technician, LD and
Programming Operator for any king of show.

modules 60x80cm High Resolution 6mm, creating all the visuals played
in the show, and operating media with ArKaos VJ DMX software through
Avolites Pearl Expert / 2008 consoles, and employing Cast Software
WYSIWYG emulation, using three Enttec USB DMX PRO interfaces to
program the whole show.
Also, he works as a free-lance lighting technician, LD and
Programming Operator for any kind of show.
