The University of Hertfordshire’s student facilities has undergone a mammoth, 4 year, complete redesign. The Hatfield campus now boasts a tremendous £38 million venue, The Forum. The AV contractor, TMC Ltd, installed the high spec custom built facilities with a uniquely technical infrastructure and, of course, in the midst of it all - the industry standard
Avolites Pearl 2010 shines.

With a non-stop line of Academy music group’s knocking at their doors, the Forum has been receiving much critical acclaim in its short six month life. Among those groups the Noisettes have recently played in what was described as ‘their fastest sell-out yet’. Known as a London punk-blues band, the Noisettes arrived to perform for a special gig in March. The band are best known for their hit song ‘Don't Upset The Rhythm’, which appeared on the advert for the Mazda 2 - taking the charts by storm.
Alex Cerio, better known as Junior, took the show by the horns with support of production company NEG Earth. Junior’s experience of the venue is equally positive, with a great crew and stage manager he found ‘everything worked perfectly’. By using the in-house console he comments ‘even though it was a disco load out it was a very relaxed set up with plenty time to go, based on a TV studio style design. Using 2k Fresnels and 5K Sky Pans.

Junior says ‘You can’t really go wrong with Avolites....especially experts. Titan threw me slightly when i first met it, but it was Sunday at Glastonbury - i simply hadn’t been aware it existed until then, but with any avo desk i know it'll be fine. I know them well and it allows me to concentrate on the design and content instead of how to achieve the look needed. If on a gig where set up and programming time is short Pearl is a great choice - personally i find it easier to build a show on the fly with them.’
