| The Land of Fire concert was a
true masterwork of the experienced international crew with an impressive
production by ITV and significant input from the Swedish lighting team of Per
Sundin, Ola Melzig and Timo Kauristo, plus Ukraine’s Euromedia Company, Luxen
Studio, Megashow, A-Light, Martin, Film Technique, Pirates and Ekta Six. The
two-level stage was 24 meters wide and 18 meters deep. Staggering 100 square
meters of LED screens were used in the show with a 12-camera set creating an
outstanding television picture. The winner was Guseynov. Quote from Ola: “The show was interesting…we didn’t know a lot of details until pretty late, including the fact that I would be one of the operators. When they sat me down in front of the Pearl, I said, ‘YEAH! I love this desk’ and we all had a great time!” |

Show: Land of Fire 2008 (Baku, Azerbaijan local
Song Contest to decide who will represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song
Contest in Belgrade.) The broadcast featured 2 songs each by 3 contestants, plus
musical performances by previous Eurovision winners Sertab, Ruslana, and Marija
Serifovic. This is the first year that Azerbaijan will compete in Eurovision.
Baku has never put on a live show of this size. |
