SINGAPORE: Avolites Diamond 4 console was used at the inaugural IGNITE! Music Festival at Republic Polytechnic (RP). Organized by The Republic Cultural Centre the two-night outdoor festival featured a strong lineup of local acts featuring Electrico, Plain Sunset, Jack + Rai (EIC), Flybar, Marchtwelve, Ngak & Clement, Allura, Ruth Ling and Caracal who whipped the crowd into a fevered frenzy. The electric atmosphere was pumped up a few more notches by the lavish backdrop of lighting and visual effects and excellent audio support, which many did not come to expect from what they thought was just another school gig. Two nights of spectacular lighting was designed by Roy Chooi, who used the Diamond 4 console to control the rig of 10 VL500 Wash, 6 VL2500 Spot and 10 VL3000Q Spot moving lights from Vari-lite. The entire production, design and setup of all AV equipment for the event was undertook by TRCC’s very own technical team headed by Kenny Chng with additional help from student volunteers. Avolites’ Singapore distributor and TRCC’s AV Partner Total Solution Marketing added to the visual glitter by supplying and setting up a distinctive 6.3m wide by 6.7m high 2-tiered, diamond shaped “checkered” Barco Mipix LED wall. |

Festival Technical Director Tony Kam added, “We have always had good working relations with Total Solution, tapping on their uncompromised stand on quality, high-end equipment like the Avolites console and Vari-lite lighting fixtures, which definitely added glitz and glamour to the entire setup.” Attracting few thousands paxs over the weekend and a host of positive feedback from various sources, all the hard work put into IGNITE! was a definitely a worthwhile effort towards the proliferation of quality local music and creating a platform for grooming young and upcoming bands. |
