| Singapore based SCM Productions are one of the
country’s leading lighting, sound and AV rental companies and now own 6 Avolites
consoles along with an array of ART 2000 dimmers. The family run company was founded in the 1970’s by Ng Seng Chai, originally as a musical instrument hire facility, and as such is one of the longest running rental operations in the country. In 1986, they changed their operation over to incorporate professional lighting, sound and AV hire, and the company is now run by Ng Seng Chai’s son, Ng Boon Keong. SCM has been investing in Avolites kit since 1997. They now have an Azure, 4 Pearls and a Diamond 4 in their hire inventory – and the consoles are all busy all of the time. They like the “user-friendliness, instant accessibility and robust-ness” of all the Avolites consoles, and note that the Pearl is particularly popular and a much specified desk throughout Singapore and Malaysia. The company supplies lighting to all sectors of the market – concerts and touring, fashion shows, corporate events and presentations, exhibition lighting and works throughout Singapore, Malaysia and other parts of South East Asia. They recently supplied lighting for the opening ceremony of the 30th Singapore Arts festival at Padang, which featured a breathtaking performance by Spanish troupe La Fura dels Baus. SCM’s Diamond 4 Elite was used to control over 60 Vari*Lites and a large generic rig. SCM Productions also receives “Fantastic” support from the Avolites Singaporean distributor Total Solution, which is as equally an important element of the equation as the equipment itself. |
