Avolites, manufacturers of quality lighting control consoles and currently in the process of revamping their demo room to celebrate the new century, were looking for a stylish set of similar quality motors ..... to hold up the new super lightweight Total Fabrication "XO" Trusses. 

Naturally they turned to PCM, UK and European distributors of CM Lodestars. Avolites' Steve Warren and PCM's John Jones cut a deal whereby PCM supplied four extremely cute Prostar motors.

The handbag sized dimensions of the Prostar may be small, but it is as rugged, reliable and tough as all CM hoists. The Prostar has a high duty cycle and is capable of lifting loads of 136 or 272 Kgs. It is ideal for venues and environments like this where lack of space and maximising the ceiling height is critical.

The Prostar itself weighs just 10 Kgs. As with all CM motors, safety is high on the agenda and features include a 6:1 design factor, a completely sealed hoist frame to protect against contamination, precision bearings and a high duty cycle with up to 300 motor starts per hour. It is available in a way-cool looking black powder-coated finish and has a lifetime warranty.

Avolites' Steve Warren comments, "There was absolutely no question - we had to have the best motors in the business! We're absolutely delighted with them. They have helped transform our demo room, are extremely neat and unobtrusive and invaluable for quick changing the fixtures." 

The Avolites' demo room is in constant use by an endless stream of international lighting designers, console programmers and operators who will often visit to visualise their shows. It is equally busy with constant training sessions for people on all products. As such the versatility of the rig is paramount.

Like PCM, Avolites is also committed to an on-going programme of product training which is why it's vital for the demo room to function as efficiently as possible "The Prostars have made a significant difference" concludes Steve Warren.
