For the second year running, Avolites are sponsoring the LIVE! Young LD Of The Year Award which will presented at the 1999 LIVE! Awards. This event takes place on February 10th at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.
Avolites see this as an ideal opportunity to support and encourage the young and up-and-coming lighting designers who are the future of the live production industry. Avo Sales Director Steve Warren says “It’s vital to support those on the way up. We have all benefited from the professional lighting industry and we want to do all we can to ensure it remains both a creative melting pot and a forum for technical innovation! Sponsoring the Award is a perfect way to return something to the industry”. Last year’s winner was the highly talented Daradh Toner, just one of the LD’s to have benefited from Avolites’ extensive training facilities and opportunities. Daradh is also a regular Avolites user and utilised a Diamond III on the 1997 Mark Owen tour for which he was nominated for the Award. Once again, The Young LD Of The Year Award will be a co-promotion, in conjunction with Celco.
